Forest Fires - St Tropez Region
As many of you will have seen there have been some very serious forest fires in and around the St Tropez area this week. Thankfully none of our clients or villas have been affected and today the news is much better as the fire authorities are reporting that the most serious of blazes are under control.
The smaller airport at Toulon Hyeres was shut for a short time but is open and operating normally this morning.
The authorities have issued a 'sever risk' of fire in the upper areas of the Var (Brignoles) and information on the areas of the Var that are high alert can be found HERE on the government website.
The Cote d'Azur is also on high alert but there are currently no incidences of fire.
Nice International Airport has not been affected.
If you are here on holiday or arriving at the weekend then please take care to respect the advice of the authorities during this time of elevated risk which includes the responsible disposal of all finished cigarettes and the closure to the public of the more remote ares of forest. There are also some local restrictions on the use of charcola BBQ's in the areas of highest risk.
We wish you a very happy holiday here on the Cote d'Azur and if you have any concerns please contact us.
