Mougins Art and Gastronomy
Mougins, just above Cannes is the home of art and gastronomy here on the French Riviera. Home to and frequented by many famous artists including Picasso and Winston Churchill there are galleries and art related boutiques at every turn of the cobbled streets. There is also a host of wonderful restaurants including the celebrated Moulin de Mougins and Paloma to name just two.
Dating from the 11th century, the village was originally home to monks of St Honorat who continued to administer the village until the French revolution. During the 18th and 19th century the village of Mougins became famous for growing lavendar, rose and jasmine for the nearby perfumr factories in Grasse.
Mougins is also the location of many wonderful rental villas several with panoramic sea views and within an easy walk of the village. How lovely to stroll into the vibrancy of the village and enjoy a delicious lunch or dinner.
