New Year's Eve Fireworks
Fireworks in the bay of Cannes at midnight on the 31st December 2016.
Remember in France Christmas is for family gatherings - Christmas Eve and Day. The French do not celebrate Boxing Day.
New Year, however, they go out party and have fun! So you need to book a restaurant as soon as possible. At midnight the exquisite fireworks in the Bay of Cannes is more than worth it !
Cannes Christmas Village
The yearly Christmas Village is on Les Allees and opens December 2nd, 2016. There is mulled wine, champagne and seafood bars as well as stands selling everything for those special Christmas decorations and presents.
There is also a fairground opposite ont he Pantiero opening December 4th, 2016.
The Rue d'Antibes is pedestrianised every Sunday in December with a variety of musical events. The Christmas parades take place 19th December in La Bocca and 24th December in the Rue d'Antibes.
There is an ice rink on Les Allees. The mornings are reserved for children aged 4-10. It costs three euros including skate hire for all for one hour. Opens 4th December 10.30am - 8.30pm.
Professional ice shows are planned: 4 December at 7pm; and on the 13th/20th and 27th December !
Each one is different so do go to them all !

Tasting a stew and polenta (on sale on site from 11.30am) prepared by the polenta makers of Isola and served by students from the Lycee Escoffier.
During the day: market featuring local produce, traditional musical entertainment, educational farms for the children; mountain merry-go-round, traditional crafts, free donkey rides, ski resort promotions, sweet chestnut tastings.

Summer horse racing meeting
The summer races take place at night in July and August. Trotting races generally take place on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Horseraces in this magnificent setting are events not to be missed. They are accompanied by activities all summer long!
Russian Art Festival
Over five consecutive days, during the course of its program the festival reveals the Russian cultural identity through its various forms of artistic expression: dance, music and cinema but also arts and crafts, fashion and the culinary art.
This events hosts over 150 of some of the world's most beautiful yachts. For a whole week, these splendid, often hundred-year old yachts confront each other in fierce battles yet marked always by fair play.
International Yacht Festival

Fete de la Musique
A magical day across France with a true celebration of all things musical. Free concerts in the streets, in venues and throughout the country. Always on the 21st June, the festival this year takes place on a Sunday guaranteeing a weekend of musical celebration.
Tour de France 2016
Running from Saturday July 2nd to Sunday July 24th 2016, the 103rd Tour de France will be made up of 21 stages and will cover a total distance of 3,519 kilometres. And eventhough they are not crossing any villages in the direct region, you can still go down to that bar, pub or restaurant and watch the races on big screens ! Enjoy !
The Long Night of Museums
The Long Night of Museums is an annual event where museums across Europe remain open late into the night, and Antibes is no exception. On this occasion, the closing time of the museums is postponed to approximately one in the morning, which allows the public to visit the participating museums by night, and guess what ! It's free !
European Heritage Days
European Heritage Days are an annual event in France where members of the public, and tourists are encourage to immerse themselves in the local history and culture. Palais des Festivals
This is the official conference and events centre, home of the famous Cannes Film Festival, MIPCOM, MIPTV and many other international events which take place in Cannes each year. There is also a programme of events which takes place each year including the 'Salon du Chocolate' and many music events and concerts. Visit the website for details of events throughout the year.
Le Suquet is the old town of Cannes and sits above the main town and port. The cobbled streets wind upwards towards the Church and the Museum. It's all well worth the walk, or take the little tourist 'train' that starts on the Croisette.
Abbey de Lerins
The Lerins Islands sit just 15 minutes off of the coast in Cannes and are home to the Abbey with its winery, restaurant and more. The boat departs at regular intervals from the port.
