A former monastery dating from the 11th century, this beautifully renovated property is situated in a rural location in the south of the Pays d"Aix, 12 kilometres from the centre of Aix en Provence. A supermarket and shopping centre are just a few minutes away. Marseille and the airport are just a 20 minute drive away.
The accommodation comprises spacious living quarters, beautifully renovated throughout, set within a 70 hectare parkland and grounds. Next to the main house is a large barn suitable for functions, and including a billiards and games room, with pinball machine, sound system and sofas for relaxing. Close to this is an 11th century chapel and, approximately 200 metres away, is a tennis court. To one side of the house, on a slightly lower level, is the swimming pool (13 metres), with protective cover. A covered terrace to one side houses a fridge, changing area and WC. There is also a large teak dining table and chairs for dining outdoors. Within the garden there is a children"s swing and two soccer goals.
The ground floor living areas have the original vaulted ceilings, very thick walls and stone flagged floors. Stone archways connect the various living and dining areas and there is a huge old stone fireplace in the main living room. The rooms are furnished to a high standard with French and oriental antiques.
