Situated in the southern Luberon, between the villages of Rognes and Lourmarin, this imposing 18th-century bastide (country house) offers a wonderful holiday base for a large family or group of friends, convenient for both Aix-en-Provence and for touring the Luberon villages and vineyards.
The bastide has been recently restored throughout to a very high level of comfort, without losing its original charm. Its thick walls, vaulted or beamed ceilings and terracotta tiled floors have been retained, and the walls painted in soft colours. The rooms are light and spacious and furnished very tastefully in soft, neutral colours. The kitchen is extremely spacious and professionally equipped. Further amenities include satellite TV, DVD, stereo music system and Wi-Fi internet access. Underfloor heated is available in winter (charged extra).
The living room opens to a large gravel terrace, with a stone dining table, shaded by ancient plane trees, and ideal for dining outdoors at any time of day. The grounds extend to 3 hectares and are filled with fruit trees, chestnuts, cypresses, hedges and pots of flowering plants. The grounds are enclosed and access is by security gate. There is fenced swimming pool (16 x 6m), with a sloping "beach" access, suitable for young children. The pool house is equipped with sink, fridge and a shower. The property also has a tennis court, in good condition.
